How the Horror Genre TRULY Began: By Opening a Book

Remember that film THE NEVERENDING STORY? Bet you never realized that it was, in fact, based on -- yes, you guessed it -- a book. A tremendous children's book, actually. That should tell you something.

Oh, but of course it did! How else would it have started? There were no TVs or theaters back in the dark Shudder or Netflix, because it's much easier digesting a story when it's presented to us.
ages. People told stories. That's how storytellers rolled. The thing is we've all lost sight of the power of the written word in favor of things like

But even that wouldn't have existed if it wasn't written down in the first place!

We Love Books. They're the Heart and Soul of Story -- and YES, HORROR IS A BIG ONE

DRACULA. FRANKENSTEIN. Edgar Allan Poe. All sorts of writings snatching us by the collar and pulling us into the darkness just for a moment -- so we can appreciate the light when we reenter it. That's our story time.

Than I went to a Haunted Mansion at Wisconsin Dells. And loved monsters for the rest of my life.

Undoubtedly, books are a part of our hearts -- and I URGE YOU GUYS to CLICK THIS LINK.

And rediscover your childish monster once again.
