J.R. Bailey certainly had something interesting when he published his trilogy IMPURE, and the first edition Resurrection hearkened to the nights of such gothic fantasy ambiance of the likes of Castlevania, or even the original Dracula, which is why....

IMPURE: RESURRECTION Certainly Ranks Up There as a Vampire Novel of the Highest Order

Why? Because this self-published golden nugget, while still darkly chilling and even philosophical resembles something like Lord of the Rings: with fangs. And not of the giant spider kind or goblin/orc species.

You see, anything gothic involving vampires still held onto that sense of realism. It was a time of the dark ages. Steeped in Christianity. Monks. Vampire hunters. Here in RESURRECTION, though, a necromancer by the name of Koristad Altessor (loved the name) teams up with Peril, a fresh "lightwielder" (think cleric, or priest) to hunt down a vicious vampire responsible for murdering Koristad's entire family. Everything here -- is total fantasy, rich for the imagination.

Pretty cool. Darkness massacred darkness, and vengeance upon the former brought on by the latter. And the latter gets some much-needed assistance from someone who is supposed to be an enemy, too! (After all, you don't expect a necromancer to do any business with a "lightwielder," right?)

Needless to Say, No One Would Hear About This Book for Obvious Reasons

Self-published. But with passion. And the stories are absolutely rich. You won't find any vampire novels like this capable of taking the mythos and pulling it into a complete classic fantasy setting.
