Kevin Smith, Director of TUSK, Suffers Dangerous Heart Attack

Understand this -- CLERKS, DOGMA, and uuuh ZAC AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO may not fit in with the flavor of the SCARY HORROR STUFF website, no doubt. But the man still has the influence, especially with an inspired masterpiece like TUSK, a horror comedy unlike any other. Which is why I was a bit overtaken by the news:

Director Kevin Smith Tweeted the Most Unlikliest Post:

He stated:
"After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka "the Widow-Maker"). If I hadn't canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would've died tonight. But for now, I'm still above ground!"
Forgive my French, but... Holy bitch. The man who brought us freakin' MALLRATS? Dear God. I would've died on the spot myself.

It turned out he was doing a couple live shows back to back but noticed issues after the first. That prompted him to be a smart little cookie and get his ass to the ER before the second show could even start. I'm thinking that many were disappointed at first but then realized.... This was a must-do for the man.

Thankfully, Kevin Smith Is Currently Just Fine

No doubt, though, he has to be watched like we're hawks. Hunting for small game. Seriously big deal. Heck, even Chris Pratt, Michael McKean, Chris Hardwick, and Patricia Arquette tweeted their prayers to ensure Smith was going to be all right.

You know when GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY's Star-Lord and freakin' Mr. Green of the board game CLUE end up falling to their knees in prayer, you know there's love in this universe!
