These Videos Prove That Demon Possession Is Still Very Scary!

5 Shocking Videos on Demonic Possession that Will Make You Believe

When you think about it, out of all sub-genres and tropes in horror media, quite honestly the concept of demonic possession envelopes and chokes the fear into and out of many simply out of enigma. And it's not even limited to Christianity. You actually see it everywhere. In every culture.

William Shatner Did the Most Shocking Thing on Halloween Once

Fitting, of course -- given that there's a certain film out there right now making quite the killing (literally) in theaters thanks to Blumhouse and company, including one Jamie Lee Curtis returning to the iconic role that began the scream queen phenomenon. But you wouldn't have guessed that indeed there was another iconic star returning to that infamous slasher story from long ago, and he is a man who has boldly gone where no one has gone before.

William Shatner. That's right. He actually was in the new HALLOWEEN film (sort of).

It Turns Out That Blumhouse Accomplished the Most Fitting Choice of Them All for Mr. Michael Myers

They brought back the original William Shatner mask from the 1979 film that started the horror of Halloween.

If you saw the chilling new sequel already, you were then witness to the mask. That mask, of course, hath been through Hell (literally) all of those years, without a doubt.

Now I know, I know -- William Shatner was technically NOT in the film. His likeness was. That, of course, didn't stop Captain Kirk from poking fun and making it awesome on one Halloween night trick-or-treating with his kids -- wearing the mask!

Talk about strangely existential.... Shatner wearing his own face over his...face.

The story came about during an interview with EW about the incredible returns of HALLOWEEN, knowing that none of that would've come to fruition had it not been for the man's likeness featured and sold in costume stores nationwide.

Was Shatner perturbed about the fact that he received literally no credit over it? Of course not!
"When my kids were younger, and they'd go trick-or-treating, and I would go with them, I'd wear the mask. If [people] didn't give them candy, I'd take off the mask, and blow a kiss." -- William Shatner
Love it. That sounds like a Star Trek captain with an awesome sense of humor, and my kind of guy.

Come on, Blumhouse and John Carpenter, Give the Man Some Credit, Will You?

The dude truly deserves it. Well, not like he needs it. The guy's explored strange new worlds and sought out new life and new civilizations for much, much longer. Let's hope Michael Myers doesn't start going after him since Jamie Lee Curtis ain't havin' none of that.

(At least until the confirmed sequel releases.)

3 Scary "Men" in Horror Short Films That Could Give Slender Man a Run for His Money

Don't get me wrong: Slender Man's scary all right, especially since he's essentially based on true events. That, however, can play against him in major ways given the backlash and controversy of the fact that while Slender Man's merely a myth, he still happens to stir one too many pots or cook too many chickens in the kitchen. When it involves recent real events, people don't view it as horror entertainment. Just "horror." The bad serious kind.

Needless to Say, That Means We're Inundated With the Next "Slender Man" to Hit the Airwaves on a Constant Basis

Myth is a powerful thing. Rumor mills churn, and imaginations soar. Of course, not everything flies the way Slender Man did as evidenced by the slightly inspired BYE BYE MAN which failed to frighten audiences at all. Heck, even the recent actual SLENDER MAN movie didn't arouse as much fear as it honestly should have. Again, though.... This is Slender Man we're talking about. A real phenomenon, probably not meant to be on the silver screen.

Thankfully we have some sweet horror movie shorts that could very easily succeed the legend that is Slender Man and probably surpass him. These noble efforts in capitalizing on some of the tropes and thoughts we have of the "unknown" or the "unseen" or the simply bizarre somehow reinvent what scared us all about a tall man with tentacles and no face.

There was just something awe-inspiring -- and hideous -- about the guy. We're thinking, however, that these boogeyman make the grade:

THE SMILING MAN

THE SANDMAN

THE MOONLIGHT MAN

Watch These Short Horror Films and See for Yourself If They Measure Up

They are, quite frankly, doing something right. The "Moonlight Man" even has a sequel offering right here. It's pretty much a safe bet we're going to see any of these adapted into feature film.

Potentially very good. See below. It turns out that the announcement is official according to the Carrie Bradshaw of the Sanderson bunch (Sarah Jessica Parker): there will be a "Hocus Pocus" sequel, premiering on Disney+.
