It's True: Thanks to Stem Cells, Scientists May be Able to Do Just That
First genetic cloning (thank you, Hammond, for bringing back dinosaurs, we appreciate it), and now this -- soon we'll have the Walking Dead show up at our doorsteps because some morons would think it's a great idea to weaponize a technology only meant to perhaps progress science in the name of medicine.
The story is that a U.S. biotech company Bioquark has had the green light to research this new tech: stem cells. What a novel idea. The research has been focused on the work to stimulate and regrow neurons through the use of stem cells to essentially reboot the brains of dead patients.
And we don't mean patients who've simply stopped breathing for maybe a few minutes. No. We mean patients who've been "brain dead" for at least a few hours. Maybe even more.
Theoretically and scientifically, it's conceivable. After all, the body doesn't decay until many days after. Restart the brain (which is basically just a very fancy super-computer), and the body starts working again, albeit a bit rusty around the edges.
Still this technique of re-animating dead bodies already at first glance seems like from a certain classic cult horror movie.
What Do You Think? Is This a Good Idea in Technology to Pursue? Or Are We All Headed Into a Dark Future?
A dark future of madness, perhaps. Scientists gone mad. This is like Frankenstein-style madness. Not even Jon Snow saw this coming.
