With the 20th anniversary of Diablo II coming up fast, it’s a shame that we’ll probably not be getting that remaster that a lot fans have begged Blizzard for years to create. Nevertheless, fans are once again to the rescue. In this case, while not a 1:1 recreation, this mod for Crate Entertainment’s Grim Dawn appears to be damn close.
Reign of Terror, as mentioned, is a full remake (and not a 1:1 copy) of classic Diablo II, and includes all content and classes present in the original Diablo II. This also includes D2‘s expansion, Lord of Destruction. It uses all the original sounds and music, and even includes the original cutscenes! On top of all of this, you can also take advantage of all of the features of Grim Dawn, including its classes, items, and all of its core mechanics.
To get this mod going, you’ll need Grim Dawn, as well as its two expansions. You can check out the full installation instructions on Crate Entertainment’s forums.
