While some fans are still holding out for a Code Veronica remake, Capcom is apparently gearing up for a remake of Resident Evil 4. This kind of makes the long-in-development Resident Evil 4 HD Project redundant, but the heads of the project still feel the fan remake is going to be worth it.
In a new blog post, the team behind the project ensures that work will continue on the fan Project, whether or not the rumours of Capcom’s remake turn out to be true.
“Right now it’s just a rumour, but I don’t really care if it’s done or not,” the update reads. “Capcom’s latest remakes are way different from the original versions. The original game will still be unique and worthy of a remastered version.”
As for the fan remake, despite the current version being from July 2018, work is still continuing. In fact, the team has posted an update video showing off the graphical improvements made to the 4th chapter, including new lighting effects. You can grab the files for the remake here.
