Just last week, Sony’s Columbia Pictures delayed their newly-titled Venom: Let There Be Carnage from its planned October 2, 2020 date all the way to June 25, 2021. In other words, it’ll likely be a while before we even see a trailer for the hotly anticipated sequel, but at least we’ve got fan art to hold us over for now. And this particular fan poster is a real treat.
Digital artist Yadvender Singh Rana‘s poster for Venom: Let There Be Carnage depicts Venom chowing down on poor Spider-Man, and the art would seem to be a nod to the famous painting “Saturn Devouring His Son” by Spanish artist Francisco Goya. The painting depicts Cronus quite literally eating his son, and it’s a truly nightmarish piece of early 1800s art.
The perfect inspiration for some badass Venom art? You bet!

Next year’s sequel is this time directed by Andy Serkis with Tom Hardy returning as Eddie Brock, who is of course also the alien symbiote known as Venom. Woody Harrelson, who popped up as Cletus Kasady in the first film’s post-credits scene, ultimately becomes Carnage in the film. Michelle Williams is also back, with Naomie Harris co-starring as Shriek.
