Alone, the English-language remake of director Mattias Olsson‘s Gone (2011) that stars Jules Willcox (“Bloodline”, “Teen Wolf”) as a woman forced to battle against the elements as a pursuer closes in on her, has been acquired by Magnet Releasing ahead of the Cannes market, says THR.
Directed by John Hyams (Netflix’s “Black Summer”, Universal Soldier: Regeneration, Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning), who is currently collaborating with Nicolas Winding Refn on HBO’s upcoming “Maniac Cop”, Magnet plans to release Alone in theaters and on demand on September 18.
In Alone…
“Set in the Pacific Northwest wilderness, the film follows recently widowed Jessica (Willcox) who, fleeing the city in a desperate attempt to cope with the loss of her late husband, is kidnapped and locked away in a mysterious man’s cabin. Her escape from the clutches of this murderous captor land her in the heart of the untamed wilderness, with only her wits to rely on for survival as her pursuer closes in.”
Marc Menchaca (“Homeland”, “Ozark”) and Anthony Heald (The Silence of the Lambs) co-star in the film.
