A New ‘Resident Evil 8: Village’ Trailer is Reportedly Coming Next Month

July is coming to a close, but the parade of big horror game news this Summer doesn’t look like it’s stopping anytime soon, as it looks a lot like we’ll get to see more of Resident Evil 8: Village in action next month.

Capcom had already mentioned that there would be more information on its next mainline Resident Evil title in August, but the reliable Resi insider Aesthetic Gamer (also known as Dusk Golem) has tweeted that a new Resident Evil 8 trailer will be among the things shown about the game next month.

Resident Evil 8 was first revealed at Sony’s PS5 games showcase a few weeks ago after months of speculation, including reports by Dusk Golem that turned out to be accurate. It sees Resident Evil 7 protagonist Ethan Winters having to deal with Werewolves, and potentially butting heads with franchise favorite Chris Redfield. The game is set to be Capcom’s first for next-generation consoles, and will run on an improved version of the already impressive RE Engine that has been behind Devil May Cry 5 and the Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes.

Dusk Golem has also previously stated we’d see that long-rumored Silent Hill exclusive for PS5 revealed this year. Given it has also been reported that Sony has another PS5-based showcase coming up in August, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see both these games make an appearance there.

There’s still no proper release date for Resident Evil 8, but it is seemingly coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2021.
