Latest ‘The New Mutants’ TV Spot Goes Full ‘Dream Warriors’ [Video]

At this particular moment in time, Disney’s 20th Century Studios is still planning on releasing Josh Boone‘s The New Mutants in theaters on August 28, but we have our doubts.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is, after all, very much still a massive problem here in the United States, and it’s *highly* unlikely that theaters across the country will be opened back up by next month. We expect, unfortunately, that The New Mutants will once again be delayed in the weeks to come, but for now, that’s still the date and they’re sticking to it.

Ahead of the film’s virtual panel at “Comic Con at Home” on Thursday, July 23rd at 2pm PST, a brand new 50-second TV spot has been unleashed today. The film, as Boone had recently come right out and stated, was inspired by A Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors, and this latest look at the movie is sure to remind Elm Street fans of the series’ best sequel.

Troubled kids locked up in a psych ward, tormented by a supernatural evil until they reach the point where they unleash their special powers on it. All it’s missing is Dokken!

In the film, “Five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.”

Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt and Henry Zaga star.
