A couple of weeks back, we told you about a cool and oddly effective mod that introduced guns into The Witcher 3. Now someone has created a mod that brings guns into Dark Souls 3, complete with Resident Evil 4-like aiming!
Okay, the initial Modern Firearm mod found over at Nexusmods and created by Asasasasasbc brings guns like an AK-47 and sniper into the game, and completely breaks it. The author even admits it as much. The second half of this gloriousness is by another modder known as Zullie the Witch, who created a set of Challenge mods that originally created a first-person camera mod and made things, well, more challenging. They then updated the mod with a third-person camera to take advantage of the Modern Firearm mod.
Nevertheless, the “challenge” is still there, as you’re left vulnerable while using the gun, and the camera is now a hindrance in places. But at least now you can harvest souls in Dark Souls 3 with a gun.
So I was playing with other camera configurations, and I think this might actually be the better option for the gun mod. It's much harder to tell when you're in an animation you can't roll out of in First Person, and sometimes you lose track of where the player is aiming. pic.twitter.com/BiHD3EUoqE
