Paul W.S. Anderson’s ‘Monster Hunter’ Moves All the Way to 2021

We’ve been talking a bit about Paul W.S. Anderson‘s video game adaptation Monster Hunter here on BD the past few days, and wouldn’t ya know it, we’ve just learned the film has been delayed. Originally scheduled for theatrical release on September 4, 2020, Sony’s Screen Gems has now moved the Milla Jovovich-starring film all the way out of 2020 and into early 2021.

Monster Hunter will now release on April 23, 2021.

Here’s the official plot rundown…

“Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back.”

Tony JaaTip ‘T.I.’ Harris, Meagan GoodDiego Boneta, Josh Helman and Ron Perlman star alongside Jovovich in the adaptation of Capcom’s video game series.
