TIFF’s Midnight Madness is Still Going to Get Crazy!

Pandemic be damned, the 45th Toronto International Film Festival is still taking place from September 10–19, 2020. While it’s unclear how things will unfold over the next few months, TIFF has assembled quite an impressive lineup, including three must-see Midnight Madness titles.

The first, Shadow in the Cloud, from director Roseanne Liang, is teased for fans of “The Twilight Zone” as it’s described as “a new nightmare at 20,000 feet”.

In the film, Chloë Grace Moretz (The Amityville Horror, Let Me In, Suspiria) stars as a WWII pilot trying to warn her obstinate male comrades of a sinister stowaway aboard their Flying Fortress. Nick Robinson and Callan Mulvey also star.

Madeleine Sims-Fewer and Dusty Mancinelli direct the Canadian horror Violation, in which a traumatic betrayal drives a woman towards a vengeful extremity.

The film stars Madeleine Sims-Fewer, Anna Maguire, Jesse Lavercombe, Obi Abili, Cynthia Ashperger, and Jasmin Geljo.

Lastly, pictured in the header is the blood-soaked horror-comedy Get the Hell Out, hailing out of Taiwan from director I-Fan Wang.

In this gonzo, martial arts–infused horror-comedy, Taiwan’s parliament turns deadly when a virus transforms politicians into ravenous zombie mutants.

The film opens internationally this coming August. Here’s the foreign trailer…
