Upcoming ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Toys from Playmates Give Us Preview Look at the Film’s Two Titans

Adam Wingard‘s fight film Godzilla vs. Kong is currently set for release on May 21st, 2021, and we’ll soon be getting a line of toys based on the film courtesy of Playmates.

In a series of tweets in the last couple days, Kaiju News Outlet has shared images from several of those upcoming toys, giving us sneak preview looks at the versions of Godzilla and King Kong that we’ll be seeing in next year’s movie. It’s the film’s Kong that we’ve been particularly interested in seeing, as Skull Island showed us Kong as a not-yet-full-grown monster.

Kong will be super-sized and in his “final form” in Godzilla vs. Kong, and an awesome piece of art on the Playmates packaging shows the two monsters at about the same height.

As for the action figures themselves, they preview a battle-axe Kong will be wielding in the film, which looks to be partially made out of one of the plates on Godzilla’s back!

Preview the Playmates toy line below.

The epic adventure will pit two of the greatest icons in motion picture history against one another – the fearsome Godzilla and the mighty Kong – with humanity caught in the balance…

“In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.”
