Cast and Crew of “The X-Files” Put Words to the Show’s Iconic Theme for a Good Cause [Video]

The opening theme song to “The X-Files” is one of the most iconic in TV history, but what if there were words to go along with the spooky sounds? Coming together for a good cause this week, the cast and crew of “The X-Files” have just released “Song in the Key of X,” the team reuniting via virtual Zoom hangout to put lyrics to the chilling tune we all know so well.

Participants include David Duchovny, Chris Carter, William B. Davis, Cary Elwes, Annabeth Gish, Laurie Holden, Vince Gilligan, Darin Morgan, Robert Patrick and Mitch Pileggi, with thirty three members of the cast and crew in total taking part to perform the theme by Mark Snow, with new lyrics by contest winners Jennifer Large and Rebecca MacDonald.

What about Gillian Anderson, you ask? She’s there too, popping up for a fun cameo at the end. Because it’s just not “The X-Files” without Dana Scully, that’s for damn sure.

“The project was conceived to bring a smile and to raise funds for the World Central Kitchen, supporting their worldwide mission to provide a hot plate of food when it’s needed most.”
