‘Control Ultimate Edition’ Announced for Steam; Will Arrive in Both Physical And Digital Versions For Consoles

If for whatever reason, you haven’t grabbed Remedy’s Control (I mean, there’s that new DLC coming pretty quickly, after all), and with the game’s exclusivity deal with the Epic Games Store coming up soon, Remedy are sweetening the pot with the announcement of Control Ultimate Edition for Steam on August 27th.

Don’t worry, as the Ultimate Edition will be headed to other platforms. Control Ultimate Edition will launch for consoles, both current and next-gen, in both physical and digital versions:

  • September 10 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store (digital edition)
  • End of 2020 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (physical edition)
  • End of 2020 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X (digital edition)
  • Early 2021 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X (physical edition)

Those who purchase Control Ultimate Edition on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X versions free of charge. This option will not be available for users who purchased the original Control, however. As you might expect, Control Ultimate Edition includes the base game, the first expansion “The Foundation,” the second expansion “AWE,” and all content updates since the release of the original game.

And if you’re curious about what we thought about the game, we loved it (even if the PS4 initially had its performance hiccups).
