Dante From ‘Devil May Cry’ Appearing in ‘Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster’ as DLC in Japan [Trailer]

Those who were disappointed that Atlus would be nixing Devil May Cry‘s Dante from the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster don’t have to fret any longer, as Atlus announced that Dante will be included in the game as an optional DLC. The “Maniax Pack” DLC will launch alongside the game, and cost 980 yen.

For a refresher, Dante was originally a guest character back when the game was released on the PlayStation 2 in Japan back in 2004. That version eventually made its way to North America and Europe. The guest character now is Raidou Kuzunoha from Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon, who was the guest character in the 2008-released Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Chronicle Edition. Confusing, I know.

Players will be able to select “New Game ~Maniax~” from the title screen, which changes every scene in which Raidou Kuzunoha would appear back to Dante, as well as the title screen loop movie and logo to Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax. The remaster also adds a “Pierce effect” to Dante’s “Son’s Oath” skill.

No word on if the DLC will carry over to the North American release, or if it will be included in the base game. Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster is due out for PlayStation 4 and Switch on October 29 in Japan, and in Spring 2021 worldwide.
