Kill Your Heroes in First Look at Rocksteady’s ‘Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’

It’s been five years since developer Rocksteady completed its Batman: Arkham trilogy with Arkham Knight, and in that time, so many theories, rumors, and leaks have surfaced regarding its next project. Would it be another Batman game? A Superman game? Something not involving superheroes at all?

Well, recently, we finally discovered that it would be a Suicide Squad game titled Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and today at DC FanDome, we got the first look at the game.

The title sums up what’s going down in the trailer. We see Metropolis overrun by Brainiac’s forces, and Amanda Waller has enlisted Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and King Shark to kill a Brainiac-controlled Justice League, highlighted by Superman showing up and lasering the face off an innocent. The trailer is a departure from the Arkham series. It’s got bright daylight, humor, and is set entirely in Metropolis.

Rocksteady confirmed that the game is set in the same universe as the Arkham series. You’ll be able to play on your own in a singleplayer or in 4-player co-op.

The game is some way off. It’s confirmed to release on PC and next-generation consoles in 2022.
