NEON Sets October Release Date for Brandon Cronenberg’s ‘Possessor’

Director Brandon Cronenberg (Antiviral) is back this year with brand new sci-fi/horror film Possessor, and distributor NEON has set the official release date this week.

Possessor will be unleashed upon the world on October 9, 2020. It’s coming to standard movie theaters and drive-in theaters on that date, we’ve learned, in its fully uncut form.

They describe the film as “an arresting sci-fi thriller about elite, corporate assassin Tasya Vos (Andrea Riseborough). Using brain-implant technology, Vos takes control of other people’s bodies to execute high profile targets. As she sinks deeper into her latest assignment, Vos becomes trapped inside a mind that threatens to obliterate her.”

Meagan Navarro wrote in her 4.5 star review for BD, “For those that love cerebral thrillers with practical gore, wrapped up in a stimulating sci-fi package, this is a must.”

Christopher Abbott, Tuppence Middleton, Sean Bean and Jennifer Jason Leigh also star.
