Shudder Lands Three Ahead of Fantasia: ‘Lucky,’ ‘Slaxx,’ and ‘Hunted’

Just ahead of the virtual Fantasia Film Festival, Shudder has picked up all U.S. rights to three female-driven horror pics, writes THR.

In Hunted, the Vincent Paronnaud-directed survival horror pic, “Eve meets what she thinks is a charming guy in a bar. Yet things go terribly wrong once she realizes she’s come across a psychopath and his puppet accomplice. They engage in a deadly chase until she decides to fight back with the forest acting as her ally.”

Natasha Kermani‘s indie Lucky, which was set to premiere at the canceled SXSW festival, “Follows May, a self-help book author with all the answers, who suddenly finds herself stalked by a threatening but elusive masked man, and caught in a struggle to get help from the people around her and maintain control over her own life.”  The film stars Brea Grant, Hunter C Smith, Kristina Klebe, Leith M. Burke, Dhruv Uday Singh, and Yasmine Al-Bustami.

Elza Kephart‘s slasher pic Slaxx, which stars Slut in a Good Way star Romane Denis, will have world premieres at the virtual edition of Fantasia.
