“The Boys”: Jensen Ackles Will Play Soldier Boy in the Third Season of Amazon’s Series!

Amazon has already renewed “The Boys” for a third season before the second season even premieres, and we’ve learned today that Jensen Ackles has joined the Season 3 cast.

The “Supernatural” and My Bloody Valentine 3D actor will be playing Soldier Boy in the upcoming third season, a character from the comics that spoofs Captain America.

A World War II vet, Soldier Boy is known as “the original superhero.”

Season 2, meanwhile, premieres on September 4.

Now streaming through Amazon Prime, “The Boys” (based on the best-selling comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson) puts a bold, fresh and bloody new spin on the superhero genre, centered on a group of vigilantes who set out to take down corrupt superheroes.

“Season Two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.”

The series hails from a team including Eric KripkeSeth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
