Creature Crawls From the La Brea ‘Tar’ Pits to Drive-In Theaters and VOD

It looks like drive-ins are already being cannibalized by VOD titles as 1091 Pictures has set their indie Tar for a theatrical run targeting drive-in theaters starting in early October followed by a digital rollout October 20, reports Deadline.

The premise sounds pretty cool as the film is  “set in the murky depths of Los Angeles’ world-famous La Brea Tar Pits wherein lies an ancient secret – a creature that, awakened by subway construction, emerges to terrorize its unsuspecting victims in a desperate fight for survival.”

Aaron Wolf directed the film he also stars in with Timothy Bottoms, Tiffany Shepis, Max Perlich and Graham Greene.

Howling Wolf Productions partners Aaron Wolf and Tim Nuttall wrote the screenplay and produced.
