Documentary ‘Hail to the Deadites’ Celebrates ‘Evil Dead’ Fandom With New Trailer and Poster Art

Fresh off its world premiere at Fantasia last month, where it won a Bronze Audience Award, the Evil Dead documentary Hail to the Deadites gets a brand new trailer and poster today.

“Inspired by the 1981 classic’s cult following, Hail to the Deadites is a documentary about the fans of the Evil Dead franchise. Through interviews with the cast, crew, collectors, fans, freaks and geeks, it seeks to illuminate the darkest reaches of the Evil Dead franchise’s undying and still-growing popularity, a popularity that has spawned four films, a TV series, comic books, figurines, and surpassed even its creator’s wildest dreams. Hail to the Deadites puts the spotlight on the fans that cultivated and spread this groovy pop-culture infection!”

“Beside meeting with fans around the world, director Steve Villeneuve‘s 80-minute documentary feature interviews with Evil Dead franchise cast members such as Bruce Campbell, Ted Raimi, Betsy Baker, Theresa Tilly, Ellen Sandweiss, Richard DeManincor, Tom Sullivan, Dan Hicks, Kassie Wesley DePaiva, Sarah Berry, Rick Domeier and Bill Moseley.”

Indiecan Entertainment has acquired the doc for Canadian distribution, and international sales will be handled by Raven Banner Entertainment. It’s scheduled to be screened at many festivals in October such as Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, Ramaskrik Film Festival, Midwest Horrorfest, Nightmare Film Festival, and South African Horrorfest.

Check out the new art and trailer below.
