Listen to the Jim Williams Track ‘The Owned Cannot Have A Soul’ from the ‘Possessor’ Soundtrack [Exclusive]

Brandon Cronenberg‘s new film Possessor is coming to theaters on October 2, and the official soundtrack will be released digitally by Lakeshore Records worldwide on the same day.

Today we’re excited to exclusively debut composer Jim Williams‘ track “The Owned Cannot Have a Soul” from the Possessor soundtrack, a haunting cue you’ll find below.

The British composer creates unnervingly hypnotic soundscapes utilizing electronic minimalism and twisted orchestral accompaniment to create ominous backdrops to the sci-fi thriller.

Williams tells us, “I provided a subverted ‘melody with a touching, though twisted orchestral accompaniment’ that corresponded with ‘love for a child, husband or family, or simply if we’re talking loss or longing’. Brandon liked this as ‘voyeur material and twisted love variation.’ The material formed the three tracks derived from ‘The Owned Cannot have a Soul.’”

Williams previously composed the scores for Kill List and Raw.

From the visionary mind of writer/director Brandon Cronenberg, Possessor is an arresting sci-fi thriller about elite, corporate assassin Tasya Vos. Using brain-implant technology, Vos takes control of other people’s bodies to execute high profile targets. As she sinks deeper into her latest assignment Vos becomes trapped inside a mind that threatens to obliterate her.

You can pre-order/pre-save the 27-track soundtrack today.
