The wait is going to be just a little bit longer for Second Sight Films’ hotly anticipated 4K Ultra HD release of George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, we’ve learned this week.
Available in Blu-ray or 4K Ultra HD versions, Dawn of the Dead will now release on November 16. It had previously been set for release prior to Halloween on October 26.
The company tweeted today, “Due to current circumstances manufacturing & packing are going to take longer than expected. Apologies, we know it’s been a long wait and thank everyone for their continued patience as we head for home straight!”
Boasting a restoration of the film from the original camera negative provided by producer Richard P. Rubenstein, the Limited Edition box set is now available for pre-order in the UK and United States through Zavvi:
- UK – Blu-ray Set (£69.99)
- UK – 4K Ultra HD Set (£79.99)
- US – 4K Ultra HD Set ($99.99)

Take note that this is a Region B release but 4K Ultra HD discs are inherently Region Free, so if you’re living inside the United States you’ll want to pre-order the 4K Ultra HD set through Zavvi’s US website. The first three discs are 4K Ultra HD discs, but the fourth disc (even in the 4K Ultra HD set) is a Region B Blu-ray and you’ll need a Region Free player to play it.
The Blu-ray version of the set includes all Region B Blu-ray discs.
