South American First-Person Horror Game ‘The Origin: Blind Maid’ Announced For Consoles And PC

Games have had players assume the role of the bad guy interesting results in the past, and Badland Publishing’s recently-announced The Origin: Blind Maid looks to continue that idea for for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam. Taking place in Gran Chaco, a vast region that stretches across Paraguay, Bolivia, and Argentina, The Origin: Blind Maid looks to explore “terrifying myths and legends of universal folklore.”

Players take on the role of a corrupt politician on the run, trying to cross the Paraguayan Chaco with his assistant, and escape to Brazil. The duo initially take refuge in a remote region known for its superstitions and legends. Unfortunately for the politician, his assistant soon bails on him, taking the key for their getaway car. Making matters worse, the politician must now face the Blind Maid, a supernatural entity that has a penchant for torture.

Conceived as a story of crime and atonement, The Origin: Blind Maid will force players to resort to use their wits in solving puzzles while also being deliberate in their choice of fighting or fleeing whatever evils they come across. Ammo and weapons are scarce, so use them wisely over the course of five chapters as you not only try to survive, but also discover the truth regarding the origins of the Blind Maid.

The Origin: Blind Maid is set for release Q2 2021.
