Blumhouse’s ‘The Craft: Legacy’ Rated PG-13 Ahead of October 28th Release

Blumhouse and writer/director Zoe Lister-Jones are bringing back The Craft with brand new sequel The Craft: Legacy this Halloween, headed straight to at-home VOD on October 28.

The official MPAA rating is in, and The Craft: Legacy has been rated PG-13 for “Thematic elements, crude and sexual content, language and brief drug material.”

Andrew Fleming’s original film was released with a “R” rating back in 1996, though as BD’s own Trace Thurman recently noted, it probably would be rated PG-13 if released today…

The Craft: Legacy will be available widely on PVOD this Halloween with leading digital retailers for a 48-hour rental period at a suggested retail price of $19.99, and for premium digital purchase at a suggested retail price of $24.99. An international theatrical release is anticipated in several territories, with details to be solidified in the weeks ahead.

Written and directed by Zoe Lister-Jones, the film stars Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, Nicholas Galitzine, with Michelle Monaghan and David Duchovny.

Blumhouse and Red Wagon Entertainment are producing the film for Columbia Pictures.

Producers include Douglas Wick, Lucy Fisher and Jason Blum.

Andrew Fleming, Lucas Wiesendanger, Daniel Bekerman, Beatriz Sequeira, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson, Zoe Lister-Jones and Natalia Anderson executive produced.
