Fatshark Drops New Details on Upcoming ‘Vermintide 2’ DLC

With Fatshark’s Warhammer: Vermintide 2 hitting its five-year anniversary recently, the developers celebrated by dropping a few new tidbits about the game’s upcoming updates in a recent Twitch livestream. Fatshark CEO Martin Wahlund and narrative director Mårten Stormdal discussed the upcoming Chaos Wastes expansion, as well as mentioning an update to Bardin the dwarf in the form of a new career (think class in classic RPG terms).

While they didn’t reveal everything, the duo did drop the news that each of the heroes will be getting a new weapon as part of the new DLC. For example, Victor the witch hunter will be receiving a triple-barrelled pistol called a griffonfoot.

Wahlund also revealed a few details on the way the Chaos Wastes campaign will be structured. “If you complete them you can play multiple short levels in a row and it gives specific rewards for that,” he said, “and there’s also some choices you can make in between. There’s also some gameplay twists to challenge people like, in those levels, the way you can find temporary weapons you can use and switch around and also upgrade during these runs, which I think is really cool. It’s a new way to play the game.”

Currently, Vermintide 2 is enjoying a hefty discount on Steam until November 2nd. The game is also available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
