We learned earlier this week that additionally photography being done for the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League will bring back Jared Leto‘s Joker, who did not make an appearance in the original version of Justice League at all, and it looks like Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke is also getting a fresh moment in the spotlight through the new version of the 2017 film.
Manganiello made a brief appearance as Deathstroke in a post-credits scene for Justice League, and Collider is reporting today that he’ll film additional scenes during reshoots.
Collider’s Jeff Sneider reports, “Our source explicitly said that Manganiello will be returning to the set for additional shooting.” Head over to Collider to read his full report.
At this point it’s incredibly clear that the “Snyder Cut” of the film never existed at all, and that Snyder is essentially putting together an entirely new movie to bring his vision to life. Tens of millions of dollars is being dedicated to the cause, and this new “Snyder Cut” is said to be quite a bit different and a whole lot darker, with Darkseid notably featured in the movie.
In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
The “Snyder Cut” is coming to HBO Max in 2021.
