Step Into an ’80s Horror Board Game Experience With ‘Tales of Evil’ This Halloween

Just in time for Halloween, the horror and adventure board game Tales of Evil, created by the game designer Antonio Ferrara, is now releasing in game stores via Ares Games.

Tales of Evil, in the vein of IT, The Goonies and Stranger Things, is a fully cooperative game for one to six players, who become “Braves” – members of a group of kids called Pizza & Investigation trying to unveil The Mystery of the Demon Puppet-Mistress. The game is published by Escape Studios and its English edition is distributed in US by Ares Games.

“The Mystery of the Demonic Puppet-Mistress” is the first campaign of Tales of Evil. The Braves must save a friend who disappeared in a haunted house. The young Investigators venture into places inhabited by the forces of evil and need to get out alive, while trying to complete their missions. The outcome of each story is shaped by players’ decisions, and each mission can end in multiple ways. Players interact with the game using the innovative “Fusion System”, which requires you to take real-life actions with direct consequences inside the game, merging fiction (the game) with players’ reality, creating a “treasure hunt” vibe in gameplay.

The game is divided in chapters, and players can “save” the game at the end of a single chapter to resume it when they prefer, making the game playable over multiple sessions.
