Talk With The Dead in New ‘World of Darkness’ Audio Game ‘The Orpheus Device’

World of Darkness fans have a plethora of games coming down the road, as well as a couple already available this year. So what’s another? The trick is that this next game is played through your smart speakers. World of Darkness and Earplay have just revealed The Orpheus Device, a free audio game set in the Wraith: The Oblivion universe, and is now available on iOS, Alexa, and Google Assistant smart speakers.

Authored by Dave Grossman, the Narrative Designer behind Telltale’s The Walking Dead and others, and Wraith: The Oblivion writer Richard Dansky, The Orpheus Device has you discover the secrets of a haunted house, and using your smart speakers (aka The eponymous Orpheus Device) as a channel to speak with a family of ghosts.

The story for the game concerns the Martens: a suffering family, bound together by bitterness, resentment, and spite. Their restless spirits lurk in the house they inhabited years ago, when they were alive. They don’t communicate well with each other, but you can speak with them using stolen credentials to access a machine called The Orpheus Device. You can explore their secrets, learn how they died, and examine what forces still hold them.

You can find out more about the title (and how to get started) by visiting its website.
