By now it’s no secret that Blumhouse and writer/director Zoe Lister-Jones‘ The Craft: Legacy, out now via PVOD, is a sequel rather than a remake, centered on a new coven of witches but serving as a continuation of the 1996 film. That makes the new movie a 24-years-later follow-up to the beloved cult classic, and if Lister-Jones has her way, it’ll get its own follow-up.
Speaking with Bloody Disgusting’s The Boo Crew Podcast this week, Lister-Jones expressed interest in writing/directing a third Craft movie, calling it a “dream” scenario.
“We don’t know [if we’ll get to make another]. That’s really for the people to decide,” Lister-Jones told The Boo Crew. “I do [have ideas]. And I always had imagined… I sort of wrote this film with a third in mind. But yeah. We’ll see how this one goes.”
She continued, “I think it would be such a dream for all of us to work together again. It truly was a magical experience. And I think really transformative for all of us. So it would be incredible to reunite and get in there again with all of these incredible women.”
Lister-Jones is joined by The Craft: Legacy stars Cailee Spaeny, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna and Gideon Adlon for a non-spoiler sit down with The Boo Crew this week about the horror films that changed them, the magic of the original 1996 adventure, the unique voice of Legacy, the use of real witchcraft on set, and so much more.
