Black Friday 2020: The Best Horror Gaming Deals

It’s Black Friday week once again, and as ever, there’s plenty of horror gaming deals to be found. Many of them can be done without even having to leave the house or wait for the mail too, which is that bit more essential this year.

New consoles are out, but you’d currently be lucky to find one available at retail price, let alone at any discount. So we’ll focus on some of the best deals for games rather than the hardware. If you did get a new console, however, there are some choice deals on extra storage, including a 2TB External Hard Drive for PS5 for just $75 at Walmart or this 8TB monster from Best Buy for just under $200. Perfect for keeping all your last generation games handy.

The stores also have the usual array of physical copies of games on sale, all at around the same prices as each other. There may be deeper discounts yet to be revealed, but in the meantime, here are a few highlights.

One of the most notable deals of the sales is for Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II, which is reduced to just $29.99 at Best Buy, Walmart, and Amazon among others. You can also pick up The Last of Us Remastered for a measly $9.99 at Walmart, Amazon, and more.

If you fancy some discounted gore-soaked fighting action then Mortal Kombat 11 (PS4, Xbox One, Switch) is down to just $12.99 at Best Buy, which is great if you bought a new console because PS4 and Xbox One versions include a free next-gen upgrade.

Nintendo Switch games are rarely down in price, so Luigi’s Mansion 3 being $39.99 at Best Buy is as close to a bargain as you’ll get for this family-friendly spooky gem.

GameStop kicks off its sale on November 25, and features game deals alongside heavy discounts on selected headsets, consoles, and is offering a $50 store voucher with the purchase of select Vizio 4K HDR TVs.

In the all-digital realm, there’s plenty of price cuts for the season. First up, the PlayStation Store Black Friday Deals have up to 70% off a variety of games including The Last of Us Part II, Doom Eternal, Resident Evil 3, Control: Ultimate Edition, Nioh 2, and Mortal Shell.

The Xbox Black Friday Sale has up to 50% off on games such as Resident Evil 3, Fallout 76, Sea of Thieves, Gears 5 (which has a free next-gen upgrade), Alice: Madness Returns, and the Arkane Anniversary Collection (which includes the Dishonored games and Prey).

Nintendo is also getting in on the digital sales fun with a sale on portable treats such as Dark Souls Remastered, Hades, Diablo III, and Carrion

On itch.io, there’s a Thankskilling Sale by Puppet Combo and Torture Star Video that gives you six games by the indie horror game creators including Baby Sitter Bloodbath, Nun Massacre, and The Horror of Salazar House for a total of $13.95. If you want something a bit different from your seasonal horror game playing, then this is a pretty good place to start.

Elsewhere on PC, you can head to The Humble Bundle Fall Sale which features up to 90% off PC games including Dead Rising 2, Wolfenstein II, Dying Light, Dead By Daylight: Silent Hill Chapter, Jurassic World: Evolution, and DOOM.

Steam’s sale is still yet to be revealed, but expect that to arrive on actual Black Friday with significant discounts on a lot of the usual suspects.

Here’s hoping you’ll have a relatively happy Thanksgiving, and grab a nice bargain or two to boot.
