Annapurna Interactive’s interactive thriller Twelve Mintues has been off the radar for quite some time. Only now has developer Luis Antonio provided something of an update for the title (though not officially) in the form of a release date change to 2021 on the game’s Steam page.
Twelve Minutes, which has been in development for over five years now, is a narrative-driven thriller that borrows from thrillers like Memento, Rear Window and the “dream-like tension” of The Shining that follows the final twelve minutes of a couple’s life.
Playing as the husband, you live with your pregnant wife who is accused by a police officer for killing her own father years prior. After the officer accidentally shoots your wife in an attempt to arrest her, you are beaten to death… only to find yourself immediately returned to the exact moment you opened the front door.
What follows is you having to experience those same twelve minutes in a loop, where you must now search for clues to solve this mystery in those twelve minutes.
Twelve Minutes is set to be released on PC, Xbox Series, and Xbox One.
