With Nightdive’s Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition delayed into next year, you’re probably wondering how you’re going to get your fix in the meantime. Other than watching the films, the modder known as Syndroid has got you covered with their mod for Serious Sam 3.
Blade Runner 2021 is a Serious Sam 3 total conversion mod set in the Blade Runner universe, and is based on events prior to the short film, Blade Runner: Blackout 2022 (which you can view here). The game follows Trixie, an escaped replicant who befriends Ren Dus, a lonely technician who works for Tyrell corp. Together, the two try to get out of the city alive.
While the mod requires Serious Sam 3: BFE, as Syndroid notes, “Don’t expect Serious Sam type of gameplay.” Also, there’s still a few kinks that need to be ironed out for the mod, but the plan is eventually to include VR support and improved character animations.
