Newly-Announced Fan-Made Film ‘Silent Hill: Echoes’ Set For November 27th Release [Trailer]

Konami unfortunately hasn’t really come through with Silent Hill lately (apart from the GOG release of Silent Hill 4), and we’re still waiting on news from Christophe Gans’ camp regarding his announced Silent Hill film (and Fatal Frame). So once again, it’s up to the fans.

And they’ve come through with the newly-announced Silent Hill: Echoes, complete with trailer!

Produced by CD Media, Silent Hill: Echoes follows James Sunderland (Michael Ciesla, Halloween: Inferno II) as he searches for his late wife, Maria (Kaylin Cervini, Book of Evil) in the town of Silent Hill. According to the filmmakers, Silent Hill: Echoes was made by fans, for fans, and promises to deliver “strong horror while staying true to the franchise.”

Producer and Cinematographer Codey Dingfield came up with the concept, saying that “Silent Hill 2 inspired me to get into horror. I remember staying up late at night, all alone with my PS2, walking around the apartment and being scared at all times! The atmosphere. The audio design. The soundtrack. The creature design… All of it is timeless and beautiful.”

The score for the movie is being created by composer Peter Wicher, who was driven to start writing music for video games after the cancellation of Silent Hills, which eventually got him involved with SadSquare Studio’s spiritual successor to P.T. in Visage.

Directed by Tim Davis and James Coleman, Silent Hill: Echoes will be available on the Coleman Brothers YouTube channel starting November 27th.
