Sarah Paulson-Starring ‘Run’ is a Record-Breaking Success for Hulu; Stephen King Tweets Rave Review

The new movie from Searching director Aneesh Chaganty, Lionsgate’s thriller Run debuted exclusively on Hulu last week, and its been a smash hit success for the streamer thus far.

According to a Deadline report today, “The Sarah Paulson thriller Run has become Hulu’s most watched feature title ever during its opening weekend, and has ranked as the most talked about Hulu Original Film to date on Twitter.”

How many people have streamed the film since its premiere last week? Hulu hasn’t actually provided that number, but we can safely assume that the answer is somewhere in the ball park of “a whole lot of people.” The previous record holder in this particular category was the Hulu Original comedy Palm Springs, which debuted on Hulu this past summer.

Even more good news for Run came courtesy of a tweet from Stephen King this week, who praised that the film offers “no extraneous bullshit… just nerve-splintering terror.”

In her review for Bloody Disgusting, Meagan Navarro wrote, “Run is well-crafted and a highly entertaining thriller that’ll keep you hooked from beginning to end. It’s well shot and edited, and grounded by two fantastic leading ladies.”

“American Horror Story” vet Sarah Paulson plays a mother raising her teen daughter (Kiera Allen) in isolation. Chloe’s life begins to unravel as she discovers her mom’s sinister secret.

All the signs are telling Chloe to run away from her mom. The only problem? She can’t.
