After making a name for himself in the horror world as the writer of Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later, Alex Garland went on to direct the genre films Ex Machina and Annihilation, most recently creating the FX/Hulu series “Devs.” What’s next for Garland, you ask? In a new chat with Empire, Garland reveals that he’s currently working on a brand new horror movie!
“I wrote a low-budget horror movie, set in the UK,” Garland revealed to Empire. “I don’t know if it’s unrealistic or not. Always at this particular moment, a film always feels unrealistic, but then somehow it works out.”
The site notes that “casting and financing on the project is currently underway,” suggesting that this one is indeed going to be made. Shooting may begin in Spring/Summer 2021.
