Two-time Golden Globes winner Jamie Lee Curtis has another award to put on her mantle in the wake of the MTV Movie & TV Awards, crowned Greatest of All Time: Scream Queen at this past Sunday night’s event. The award was presented to the legendary star of Halloween and, well, Halloween, by another all-time great scream queen, Scream‘s Neve Campbell.
“To all of the fans at MTV and obviously all of the fans of horror movies, I thank you personally from the bottom of my heart,” Curtis began her virtual acceptance speech. “It’s been an amazing time. And ya know, MTV was invented in 1981 and Halloween was invented in 1978 so I feel like we’ve grown up together.”
“I would not be standing here were it not for John Carpenter, Debra Hill, Irwin Yablans and Moustapha Akkad,” she continued. “And now, all these years later, David Gordon Green, Malek Akkad, Blumhouse, Universal, Miramax, have all come together to bring you another Halloween and now two more.”
Curtis then celebrated the Halloween franchise even further by bringing out Michael Myers to join her. “We both hope you enjoy the next two movies, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends,” she said through a Michael Myers-themed face mask of her own.
