What has District 9 and Elysium director Neill Blomkamp been up to during the ongoing pandemic? Revealed by Deadline today, he’s made a brand new, top secret horror movie!
“The untitled film shot in British Columbia over the summer,” the website reports. They refer to the film as a supernatural horror movie, with “a strong sci-fi and VFX component.”
Deadline adds, “Plot details are being kept under wraps on the project but we hear it is something the filmmaker had always wanted to make.”
The untitled movie is said to be a feature length project, Blomkamp’s first since 2015’s Chappie. He has more recently been directing shorts including Rakka, Firebase and Zygote.
Blomkamp has also been developing a horror movie titled Inferno, with Taylor Kitsch set to star, but it looks like his secret movie with AGC Studios is a different project entirely.
