Fresh from releasing Resident Evil – Ada’s Mod to the public, modder Aydan Watkins has released another mod (with some help from Andrew Coyte for the animations), this time to his backers on his Patreon. Unlike his previous stuff, this mod has you playing as one of the villains of the original game (and no, it’s not Wesker).
Resident Evil Hunter is part skin mod, part gameplay tweak where instead of playing as Chris or Jill, you play as one of the Hunters. Not only that, but Watkins has made it so that the player can use the Hunter’s slashing attacks, as well as tweaked the damage values to allow you to beat the game using the Hunter’s attacks.
There are two slash attacks that the Hunter can perform. The ‘Low Slash’ attack uses the same rules as the knife, where you need to aim down and attack. The ‘High Slash’ can only be used if you are within a certain distance of the enemy. This can be used on any monster which is taller than the Hunter. And instead of ammo, the attacks use ‘Stamina’.
Currently, the mod is only in Alpha, so you’ll be sure that it gets refined in the future. Once again, in order to get it, you’ll need to subscribe to Watkins’ Patreon. Many thanks once again to Biohazard Declassified for this one.
