Well, it’s finally happening. Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts‘s (Kong: Skull Island) feature film adaptation of Metal Gear Solid has begun casting, with Oscar Isaac the first to sign on.
Issac has been cast in the leading role of iconic character Solid Snake! It’s interesting to note that just last year, Isaac had expressed serious interest in playing that very role.
Deadline broke the news this afternoon.
Derek Connolly wrote the script, with Avi Arad producing.
The original Hideo Kojima-created video game Metal Gear was released by Konami on July 13, 1987. The game went on to spawn a massive franchise that continues to this day.
In the game (via Wiki), “The player often takes control of a special forces operative (usually Solid Snake or Big Boss), who is assigned the task of finding the titular superweapon, a bipedal walking tank with the ability to launch nuclear weapons.”
