David Gordon Green had recently promised that Halloween Kills will feature “twice the thrills and ten times the kills” of Halloween 2018, and that promise is indeed reflected in the MPA’s official rating that’s just been turned in. It of course comes as zero surprise that next year’s sequel has been rated “R,” but it’s interesting to note that it’s a bit harder than 2018’s “R.”
Whereas Halloween 2018 was rated “R” for “Horror violence and bloody images, language, brief drug use and nudity,” Halloween Kills has been Rated “R” for the following…
“Strong bloody violence throughout, grisly images, language and some drug use.”
You can check out this past October’s latest teaser trailer below, while we wait for more.
The cast includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak and Robert Longstreet, with original Halloween actor Charles Cyphers returning as Sheriff Leigh Brackett.
Anthony Michael Hall also stars in the new film as Tommy Doyle, with the returning Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace and Nancy Stephens as Nurse Marion Chambers.
Gordon Green wrote the script with Danny McBride and Scott Teems.
The current release date for Halloween Kills is October 15, 2021, only in theaters.
