The Trailer for Sundance Thriller ‘The Pink Cloud’ Is Way Too Relatable [Video]

Hiding within the massive Sundance Film Festival program is a new thriller hailing out of Brazil that is shockingly relatable.

In The Pink Cloud, from director Iuli Gerbase

“A mysterious and deadly pink cloud appears across the globe, forcing everyone to stay home.

“Strangers at the outset, Giovana (Renata de Lélis) and Yago (Eduardo Mendonça) try to invent themselves as a couple as years of shared lockdown pass. While Yago is living in his own utopia, Giovana feels trapped deep inside.”

The trailer calls to mind The Fog or The Mist, but more of a dramatic thriller in which a small community deal with being trapped indoors as an enormous pink cloud rests heavily on top of them all. While filmed prior to the ongoing pandemic, it’s all too relatable.
