You Can Grab ‘The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut’ For Free on GOG.com (Again)

Need something to tide you over until Cyberpunk 2077 gets released later this week? CD Projekt RED have decided to make their very first game, coincidentally the first entry in The Witcher series, absolutely free on GOG.com. Yeah, they’ve had many times before where they’ve given it away for free. And yes, the game is 13 years old now. But with the modding community still going strong, there’s still life in the game.

To actually claim the game, you’ll need to either install or update the GOG Galaxy client. From there, if you don’t already own The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut, you should see a banner across the top of the page. Click on the giveaway button, and the game will show up in your account.

Yes, it’s another proprietary client. But the thing is, once you claim the game, you can simply uninstall the client, and The Witcher will still be in your account, allowing you to download the installer separately, without the need for the client itself.

Plus, as CD Projekt RED are wont to do, there are several goodies that come along with The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut, including the soundtrack, game maps and more. Plus, it’s free, so why complain about that?

The second season of The Witcher Netflix series is currently in production. Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled for release on December 10th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with PS5 and Xbox Series versions coming in the future.
