Housemarque have released a new episode of their behind-the-scenes HouseCast series of videos for their upcoming sci-fi shooter, Returnal. The latest episode, appropriately titled “Action!”, focuses on Housemarque’s process of translating the title’s explosive action into 3D, and how the developers stay true to their motto of “Gameplay First”.
Returnal‘s game director Harry Krueger joins Housemarque’s marketing director Mikael Haveri to talk about the developer’s transition from “bullet hell” shooters to the sci-fi action psychological horror found in Returnal. Of course, the video also showcases more of the game’s frenetic action, so fans have something to chew on in between the talking heads.
Returnal launches on March 19, 2021 for the PlayStation 5.
