The animated Jurassic World experiment worked and Netflix is already on its second season of the series. Next up, the streaming service is set to animate the great King Kong!
Announced today is “Skull Island”, a new animated series for Netflix that takes place within Legendary’s Monsterverse. The films that are part of the universe have thus far included Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters and this year’s Godzilla vs. Kong.
The logline for the animated series doesn’t reveal much…
“A shipwrecked crew, an island of monsters, and one king to rule them all.”
Will this series take place during the events of the film franchise, much like Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous? It’s an important question because the films have now spanned over 40 years and the size of King Kong has changed throughout them.
More as we learn it.
