Survival Horror Title ‘Chernobylite’ Pushed to Q2 2021; Devs to Expand Game Before Leaving Early Access

At this point, any delays of games currently in production can be summed up with the pandemic. That’s the case once again with The Farm 51’s Chernobylite, which has now been bumped to a Q2 2021 release.

Announced in a new Steam update, the devs are taking the opportunity to further polish the game, including seeing the game translated into more languages than what was originally intended. In addition, the original English and Russian voiceovers will now be re-recorded with professional voice actors.

On top of that, The Farm 51 are also “creating new content and gameplay elements that previously were supposed to be published as DLCs”, meaning that the final game will be bigger than what was originally slated when the game exited Early Access. All those who bought the game in Early Access or supported the title during the Kickstarter campaign will receive the new content completely free as part of standard Chernobylite updates.

Finally, for the console version of Chernobylite, it’s currently under “heavy development” and should be finished in the following months. “The PC version premiere, which will be close to the console versions premiere, will not only allow us to make more buzz around Chernobylite and reach out to players that didn’t yet come across our game but also to continue the development of the project,” says The Farm 51.

What consoles the team intends to release Chernobylite for hasn’t been announced as of yet. In the meantime, the devs have released a new video demonstrating the new voiceovers.
