Here on Bloody Disgusting we’ve published several articles (find them all here) covering *our* favorite horror movies of the year, but it’s always interesting to take a look at year-in-review roundups from other places as well. Letterboxd, for example, kicks off each new year by spotlighting the previous year’s top hits, and their full 2020 Year in Review is now live.

As always, films are broken up into various different categories based on highest user ratings, with the 10 highest rated horror movies of 2020 including the following films:

  1. Saint Maud
  2. Possessor
  3. The Invisible Man
  4. Spontaneous
  5. Deerskin
  6. His House
  7. Anything for Jackson
  8. La Llorona
  9. The Wolf of Snow Hollow
  10. Impetigore

The 10 highest-rated sci-fi movies of 2020 includes a handful of these same titles, including Possessor and The Invisible Man, along with Love and Monsters and The Vast of Night.

As for the highest-rated films of 2020 across all genres, the horror movies Promising Young Woman (#10) and Saint Maud (#38) made the cut. There’s also a list of the most popular films of 2020 across all genres, and that one includes The Invisible Man, Platform, Color Out of Space, The Lodge, The Hunt, The New Mutants, Underwater, Possessor, and Host.
